The Ahimsa Festival Attendee Guide

We cannot wait to welcome you to the 10th Annual Ahimsa Yoga & Music Festival on September 23 & 24th! Below are some important information to know prior to your arrival.

Festival Camping

Festval Camping

Here is everything you need to know about camping at Lakota's Farm.  This is primitive camping, meaning there is no electricity, no running water.  There will be a bathroom trailer available (sink & toilet, no showers).  The Bhakti Barn will also be available for bathroom use only.

  • Camping now available for Friday & Saturday night!  Your festival with camping covers both nights.

  • Camping check-in available Friday from 5-9 pm and Saturday starting at 8:30 am.

  • Check in at registration desk.

  • Maximum 1 tent and 4 people per campsite.

  • Cars must remain in the designated parking area.

  • No fire or open flame at campsite. Enjoy the warm fire at the bonfire pit on the main lawn!

  • Small portable propane stoves are allowed at your campsite.

  • Bring your own equipment and supplies to allow for a comfortable stay. Here are some suggestions: sleeping bag, pillow, thermarest, cot, or blow up mattress, warm sleepwear, eye mask, ear plugs, clean clothes for each day, toiletries, etc.

  • Bring lanterns, flashlights, headlamps. Some lights will be available from flood lights at barn, and solar lights on the fence.

  • Please stay in designate areas (campground, main lawn, Bhakti Barn, parking lot) between 8-10 pm.

  • No persons allowed beyond the Bhakti Barn past 8pm.

  • Quiet time after 10pm.

  • No animals/pets allowed on property. 

  • No alcohol allowed on property

  • Campground management staff will be available for assistance until 10 pm Friday & Saturday.

  • Ahimsa security is available after hours for emergencies only.

What to Bring & Expect

We are here to help with all your festival needs!  Here are some suggestions of what to bring with you and what you might expect to experience at the farm!

What to bring

  • Bring your mat, a water bottle, your favorite props (or use ours!), and friends!

  • Don't have a mat? No problem. Our sponsor iláStrate Yoga will have some available for purchase at her booth!  They're functional and GORGEOUS!

  • Wear layers.  Or don't!  Because there will be awesome apparel available at the vendor village, not to mention all the Ahimsa gear.

Weather

  • Prepare for any weather!  The festival will take place rain or shine, so check the weather forecast the day before to know how to dress and what to pack!

  • Speaking of weather, all outdoor workshop spaces will have covering in the form of a pavilion, two tents with walls and one tent without walls.

Parking

  • PARKING IS FREE!

  • Parking lot is limited to 200 vehicles.  

  • We highly encourage car pooling when possible to help with parking space and the planet!

Registration

  • Registration opens at 8:30 am Saturday & Sunday.  You will check in, read and sign the festival waiver, and get your festival wrist band. 

  • The registration desk is a great place to visit for any questions and information.  Volunteers and staff will be available throughout for assistance as well.

Program Schedule

  • Schedule boards will be available behind the registration desk at in the lounge under the Bhakti Barn.  QR codes will be available for quick access to the schedule on your smart phone.

Vendor Village

  • Bring some $$ with you and check out the vendor village before the opening ceremony and in between  workshops/concerts. 

  • Vendor village will be open from 8:30 am to 6:oo pm Saturday & Sunday.

Food & Drink

  • Come enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the farm!  Food trucks and food vendors are ready to serve.

  • Water bottles can be filled at the bar in the festival lounge under the Bhakti Barn.

  • There will also be tea, coffee, kombucha, smoothies, and more available for purchase throughout the farm.

  • Food will be available for purchase from 8:30 am to 8pm Saturday night!

  • Food will be available for purchase from 8:30 am to 5pm Sunday night!

WiFi

  • Cell reception may be spotty at times.  WiFi is available on the farm and wifi password will be provided upon check-in.

Taking photos

  • Photos are permitted during festival events.  Please NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY so we can keep our teachers and performers safe from distractions and bright lights.

  • Please be mindful that other people may not want to have pictures taken of them.  Ask permission so they may opt out of your pic!

  • A few professional photographers and social media directors will be taking pictures throughout the festival. If you notice they are taking pictures in your direction and do not want to be photographed, please let them know.  They are happy to accommodate!

Open Together!

  • Start your Ahimsa journey with the opening ceremony at 9:30 am Saturday & Sunday.  It's a great way to open as a like-minded community ready for growth, grounding, and good times.

Saturday Night Activities

  • Saturday enjoy high vibes with a DJ dance party with DJ Bumi and all her style to close out the day.

  • Need more grounding Saturday night before bedtime? Enjoy late night gong bath from 7-8pm.

Close Together! 

  • Closing the festival Sunday from 5:30-6:00 pm with Swami Chidananda at a fire ceremony at the bonfire pit.  We begin as individuals and close as one community.
