FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is your refund policy?
Due to production costs, all ticket purchases are non refundable. We understand emergencies happen. Tickets may be transferable for any reason up to 7 days prior to the start of the festival. To transfer your ticket to another person, please provide written notice with your full name, email address, billing address and the name of the new ticket recipient, their email address, and billing address. You may email this information to info@ahimsafestival.com with subject line "Ticket Transfer Request". Please allow up to 48 hours for a response and confirmation of transfer. We apologize ticket transfers cannot be made after the indicated cut off date due to limited staff and increased production needs at that time. Please take this into consideration prior to your purchase.
Do you have a Covid-19 policy?
We will be acting in accordance with the local health department and New York State regulations regarding pandemic protocols and policies. That said, our event is mostly outdoors, and as such, largely descreases any risk of transmission of Covid-19. We recommend testing with either antigen or PCR Covid-19 test within 72 hours of the festival date, and if it indicates a positive result we ask that you refrain from attending for your protection and for the protections of others. We are not checking vaccination statuses nor requiring a negative Covid-19 test result to participate in this event. Please be mindful that due to production costs, all ticket sales are non-refundable regardless of reason or health status. Please see the Refund Policy section regarding ticket transfers.
When does the festival start/end?
Festival check-in will begin at 8:30 am on October 1, 2022. The festival will begin at 9 am and end approximately 8 pm. All participants will be asked to vacate the property by 9 pm to allow staff and volunteers time for clean up. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Is there parking at Lakota's Farm?
There is a parking lot close to the barn. It can accommodate 200+ vehicles. There is also an overflow parking lot for more vehicles as needed. Please know that we cannot always guarantee an on-site handicapped parking space for anyone. These spaces are first-come, first-serve. Parking attendants will be present to direct vehicles to an available spot. Please be mindful of the parking attendants and follow their directions. Thank you!
Do you allow any animals or pets on the farm?
Only licensed service animals are permitted to attend the event with you and must remain leashed at all times. Emotional support animals or pets of any kind are not permitted per the venue policies and for the safety and security of the venue farm animals and all persons present at the festival. It is recommended to show proof of service animal license before purchasing a ticket. Please note that tickets are non-refundable should you fail to provide proof prior to the event and you are asked to remove your animal or pet from the premisis. The land and venue owners are the only exception to this rule.
Is there lodging available?
While there are plenty of lodging options in the surrounding area, there is no lodging at the farm. Please visit the Lodging Options section of the Lakota's Farm webpage. You will find handy info there!
Is there cell reception and WiFi on the farm?
Cell reception may be spotty at times. WiFi is available on the farm and wifi password will be provided upon check-in.
Can I take photos and videos at the festival?
You are welcome to take photos and videos during the festival, though we ask you keep a few things in mind. Please do not take flash photography of presenters or music artists when they are performing for their safety. Be discrete when taking photos or videos during a workshop as to not influence the experience of other festival participants. This means they will ensure the same courtesy for you! Most presenters are happy to take selfies with you. Please wait until after the workshop or concert to ask for a photo op. We ask for your understanding if a presenter may decline as they may be in need of getting to their next destination as quickly as possible. Always ask permission when taking photos or videos of other participants. Please use #ahimsayogafestival and #ahimsayogaandmusicfestival when posting on social media and tag @ahimsayogafest on IG so you can be entered into a give-a-way raffle! The more you post the better your odds.
What if it rains?
The festival will go on rain or shine! We have plenty of indoor spaces to gather as well as a large tent for outdoor events. In the event of an impending storm that will highly impact the venue, the festival will be postponed to a later date. More information regarding postponement will be provided upon that eventuality. So let's cross our fingers for a bright, bright sunshiny day!
Can I bring alcohol or drugs to the festival?
Alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted on the property. Smoking is prohibited in event areas, in the barn, at the vendor village, and near the food trucks. Designated smoking areas will be indicated.
Will there be food available?
Food trucks and food vendors will have items and meals available for purchase. We greatly appreciate your support of local and small businesses who love to cater events such as ours. For some, food options can be tricky, especially if you have a severe allergy or intolerance to certain types of food. In that case, we recommend you bring all the sustenance you need to keep you alert and hydrated through the day!
What should I bring with me?
Pack light, but smart =) Wear layers. Bring your favorite yoga mat and water bottle. A limited number of yoga mats will be available for rent. A light rain jacket couldn't. A small bag to store your items when not in use, or to use as a shopping bag when grabbing all your favorite things from the vendor village. Please keep all valuables locked in your vehicle. Some vendors will accept cash and credit cards. Others will be cash only. Keep that in mind when packing your essentials. And most important, don't forget to bring your homies.
Are there bathrooms?
Absolutely! The main barn has a commercial septic system and 4 bathrooms for a total of 8 stalls available. The main barn bathrooms are available for full day pass holders and for persons requiring ADA accessible restrooms. An additional bathroom trailer will be available for vendor village customers that includes flushable toilets and running water for washing hands.
Is the festival family friendly?
The vendor village is open to family members of all ages! Parents/guardians are required to be present and responsible for their children at all times. Childcare and kid friendly events are not available at this time. The festival workshops and special events require a Full Day Pass to attend. It is recommended for people ages 12+ and all workshops and events will be modified to the best of the presenter's ability to accommodate all participants. While it is not recommended for children under 12 years old to participate in the workshops & events, we will leave that decision up to the parents and guardians as children have different levels of experience and practice. Due to production costs, there are no discounts for children to participate in the festival events.
